My Intellectual Girl

Here we are reading a good book. Check out those legs.
"The Chicken Place" had a cow appreciation day and so we got a free meal by dressing like a cow. Couldn't resist.
Nothing more to say about this one:)
This is what happens when you have K dress herself. Both legs are in one arm hole. She is growing up, but not too fast:)

Summer Closing

So the summer is reaching its end. I have to say that I have a new found respect for every stay at home mommy out there. It is a lot of work!!! K keeps me so busy that sometimes I wonder how those mommies do it:) I have enjoyed being able to just play with my little girl, but I do miss teaching. It is sneaking up on me a tad bit too quickly though. SHHHHH...don't tell K, but Momma G and Poppa G are coming down to visit. I know she will be thrilled. This weekend one of our college friends is coming down to stay with us for the weekend. K believes he is coming to visit her. Hard to explain that one:) I suppose he is. I hope he knows what he is getting himself into! Swim lessons are also over and that is a relief. She started to get burnt out towards the end and she can at least do a little bit of the doggy paddle, so that is a start. Hope all is well with everyone of you and keep those prayers coming. K will probably have a struggle when mommy goes back to school. I know I will:(

Having Fun 'Round Here

Here are some pictures of K's Fourth of July dress. She had fun swishing it around.
K and I had to have wacky hair for our vacation bible school this week. She has enjoyed dancing to the music and just being around all of the big kids. Swim lessons are going alright, but she hasn't wanted to dive off of the diving board lately. We don't have lessons until Monday so I am hoping it will be a good break.

Our Little Daredevil

K had her first swim lesson today at the public pool. She didn't enjoy the head under the water at first, but she began to warm up to the young ladies who were teaching the lesson. The reason we wanted her to get lessons is in the picture above. She has no fear. At least, sometimes. Towards the end of the lesson, our little daredevil "jumped" off of the diving board!!! Can we say that I was one proud mommy?!? The thing that made it even better was that there was only one other child who was willing to dive and it was a girl. Those boys were chicken. Yes, I said it. My daughter is braver than the boys:) She wanted to call everyone and tell them she jumped. I think she plans on doing this tomorrow too. That's my girl. Nothing can stop her.

Independence Day

After looking through our photos, I quickly realized that I am usually the one taking the photos. Therefore, little pictures with me and my little girl. Aunt Amy took this picture and I think that it turned out pretty well.
Here is K's suppise (surprise-for those of you who don't speak her language). She spent the night at the grandparent's house and came back to find her own little house!!! She thought it was her cousin's because M has the same exact house. Now they are truly twins:)
Here is our fourth of July ensemble. The halter top was a lot of fun. We spent most of our morning for the fourth at a family reunion. K got to see a lot of cousins. When I told her she was going to meet her cousins, she informed me that she had "two." I had to let her know that in our family there are definitely more than two:)
Here we are taking orders. I believe I know what her summer job will be...waitress. Of course, you only have certain selections. Chicken, french fries, milk, ketchup, napkin, and ranch. You ask for something else and she will inform you that that is not an option. I don't think tips will be too good. Hope all of you are having a Happy Fourth of July!!! Thank God we will live in a country where we are free to share thoughts and pictures with whoever will look!
